I’ve been trying my best to catch up on everyone’s blog lately, and in doing so, I’ve found tons of great new blogs to follow. I’m so exited to have new material to read every morning, and to meet other bloggers from all over the world. One of my goals for 2016 was to write more about myself, from my personal life, to my relationship, to my career aspirations. I really want to commit to that goal (even if it is a little late in the year) and open up to my readers.
When I first started this blog about a year ago now, I wrote my first 15 Facts About Me so that all of you could get a little insight into my life. To my surprise, everyone loved it! I personally love reading these types of posts as well, and they often determine whether or not I want to follow that blog. So here are 15 (more) facts about me!
I was born in Beverly, MA and raised as a typical Beantown hockey girl. I’ve played on and off for 16+ years now, despite all of the injuries.
I absolutely love interior design. If I hadn’t started the career I have now, chances are I would’ve pursued that instead. I spend way too much money on fancy pillows and pretty candles.
I’m officially a freelance writer (part time). One of my recent and favorite pieces was for Military One Click (check it out here)and I love writing for them! It’s nice to have the extra income, but I do it for the experience more than anything.
I make care packages on a regular basis and send them out to deployed troops at random. Christmas Tree Shop is my go-to place for supplies!
When I graduated college, my biggest fear was getting stuck at a job I hated. I was terrified. But I stayed patient, and eventually things got clearer.
I have two jobs that I would consider my “dream” jobs, and they’re both very different: 1. Working for a newspaper or magazine and having my own section each week/edition. 2. Working with animals, either as a foster or volunteering at a Refuge League.
Kyle did get down on one knee for me once. But it wasn’t what you think. We had gone through a really difficult time when he joined the military, and although it may seem corny, he got down on one knee to promise me “someday”. He promised that things would get better, and we would find our way back. And sure enough, we did. Next time, it’ll be the real thing.
Whatever that “disorder” is where you absolutely cannot tolerate people chewing, I definitely have it.
I have never had a dog in my entire life. Growing up, we always had cats. So i’m extremely excited for Kyle and I to get our first puppy when we get a house!
I was never really excited about the thought of having kids. But in the past year I’ve started to feel differently about that. It’ll happen, someday, years from now.
I’m really not picky, but my idea of the “perfect” date would be trying out a new coffee shop or brunch place. I love breakfast food if you couldn’t tell.
When I was little, my parents owned a cabin up in northern Maine. We went there almost every weekend, and it’s where I discovered the most about nature and my love for the outdoors. We used to sit outside and my dad would point out all of the constellations and the stories behind them. It’s one of my favorite memories.
My mom and I used to fight like crazy when I was in high school. Eventually we realized that we were much more alike than we thought, and we went back to being best friends. She’s absolutely amazing.
I’m not a huge fan of the NFL, and anyone who knows me knows that I love hockey the most. But I actually love college football too. And guess who? Roll Tide.
I used to ski almost every weekend, and I’ve been in 2 serious skiing accidents. I eventually decided to quit while I’m ahead.
What are some things that you want your readers to know about you?
I love that you send out care packages to the military and I’m thinking that I’d like our family to do that this Christmas. Do you have a specific organization or website that you have used and like?

I totally have the same disorder for not tolerating people chewing EWWW
I think it’s great to have two very different career ideas. That way maybe one day you can do both, make money doing both, enjoy doing them and be fulfilled, never bored.

Thanks Nicole! I’ve been doing it for about 2 years now, and https://www.operationgratitude.com is one of the best resources for helping you get packages out. My brother is deployed and my boyfriend has a pending deployment, so it’s definitely a cause that’s close to our hearts.

It would be so hard for me to be a foster “parent” to animals because I’d just want to keep them all!

I’m the same exact way! I would end up with 20 animals in my house for sure haha

I use to send out packages! too but I needed to stop once my finances got the best of me. I am still in the group and really hope to pick it up again. I am almost to the point of graduating and I am scared. But I know I shouldn’t worry.
Wonderful post thanks for sharing!
