Have you ever had one of those “Monday incidents” where it’s not even a Monday, but it certainly feels like one? So far this week, every day feels like a Monday. I’ve been struggling to get out of bed, and find the motivation to do what I have to do. A huge part of this is because I’ve started going to the gym in the morning again, and my body is a bit confused with the change of routine. Kyle can sleep through an alarm clock like it’s his job, (probably a habit formed when he had to sleep in a huge room with 60 other guys a.k.a. barracks) so I’m usually the one that has to wake us up.
I’m more of a morning person than most, but I do struggle sometimes to truly wake up. I move pretty slow at first, which can make the first 20 minutes of any morning workout feel like a complete waste. I don’t have much time to use before work, so as soon as I enter the gym I try to make the very most of it. One thing I really rely on in the morning is having the perfect playlist to keep me energized.
I’ve always found music to be a really personal thing, especially when it comes to what motivates you. Some people love running to country music, boxing to rap, and climbing the stair master to techno. It’s all about what gives you that boost that you need. So some of these songs/artists might not do it for you, but it may give you some new ideas to add to your own playlist. This is my ultimate playlist:
Waka Waka – Shakira
Til’ I Collapse – Eminem
I’m Coming Home – Kanye West
The Chain – Fleetwood Mac
Ching-A-Long – Missy Elliott
And We Danced – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Ten Thousand Hours – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Only Wanna Be With You – Hootie and The Blowfish
Moment 4 Life – Nicki Minaj
For What It’s Worth – Buffalo Springfield
Strange Clouds – B.O.B.
Encore – Jay Z
Titanium – Pitch Perfect Soundtrack
I Hope It Rains – Jana Kramer
Wanted – Jessie James
Lose Control – Missy Elliott
Shark In The Water – V V Brown
I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
Take You There – Sean Kingston
Kids – MGMT
Sail – Awolnation
6 Foot 7 Foot – Lil Wayne
Best of You – Foo Fighters
Drops of Jupiter – Train
And these are just a few of my faves!

I love that song! Anything upbeat really keeps me going. It’s always hard to narrow it down to a list.
