This summer/fall it seems that everyone I know is getting married. And this weekend, my beautiful cousin Brittany is marrying the love of her life, Tyler. As I was packing yesterday to travel down and celebrate with them, I started to review my wedding makeup look.
Since it’s fall, it’s super easy and fun to pick out a fresh look that’s a little different than my usual. I wanted to do a faint red lip to go with my cranberry colored dress, and go a little heavier on the eyes than my usual.
Beauty Accents Brushes
I’ve had these brushes for a couple years now, and they’re amazing quality. The whole set was $24.99 at Ulta, and I would definitely buy them again.
Sephora Eyeshadows and Mattifying Foundation
These are my key items, but I’m still trying to choose between the silver/blue palette and the gold. I think I’ll end up going with the gold because of my cranberry colored dress and gold jewelry. I may try a subtle smokey eye with the charcoal colored eyeshadow lining the crease of my eyelid.
C.O. Bigelow Lip Formula and Goldie Lip Gloss in “Sweet Wine”
This season seems to be the perfect time for lip stains, and I’ve certainly tried my fair share. But one thing I noticed is that they always dry my lips out, and it’s definitely not easy to wash off. The trick to long lasting lip stain, that doesn’t ruin your lips, is a moisturizing base. I use the C.O. Bigelow Lip Formuly because it goes on clear and moisturizes all day while I wear my lipstick/stain.
My “Sweet Wine” lip gloss is the perfect shade to complement the bright red and burgundy colors that everyone else will be wearing. It goes on very smooth, but even when the shine fades a little bit, the color still lasts. Goldie products have become some of my favorites, and they usually come in large packages with a variety of samples (who doesn’t love samples?)
Bath and Body Works: Vitamin E Moisture Cream
Bath and Body Works face creams have always been a huge life saver for me. They have different creams that are specific to different skin types, and I’ve been experimenting with which ones work best for a while. Like most people, I have to put on face moisturizer every time I get out of the shower. This one serves as the perfect base layer to keep my skin soft all day.
Marc Jacobs: Daisy
This is my favorite fragrance for all day wear, and I decided to bring it for this occasion as well. I have quite the collection of sprays and perfumes, ranging from the fruity ones to the most strong scents. I think this is just right for a nice subtle scent.
Loreal Voluminous Mascara and Ulta Precision Slim Eyeliner
I’ve been using this mascara for years now, and it gives my lashes just the right amount of thickness, but doesn’t clump them up like most volume mascaras. Today I’m going to curl my eyelashes and use the waterproof version of this for a more long lasting look.
The precision eyeliner is something I recently picked up at Ulta because I was getting tired of my liquid eyeliner. It goes on very dark and smooth compared to others that I’ve tried. Eyeliner is usually part of my routine that I can’t go without, so it’s nice to finally have a good one!
All of the fun festivities are about to begin, so I will post lots of pictures on my Instagram for all of you to see!
What are your favorite wedding/special event looks? Any suggestions?
Daisy by Marc Jacobs is my ALL TIME favorite perfume!! And I love Voluminous mascara too, I swear by it! Everyone always asks me if my eye lashes are fake and I tell them to go get the mascara for $6 haha š
