10 Tips For Making Your Airport Experience Quick and Easy

There’s nothing fun about the airport when you’re waiting to get to your vacation destination.  You wait all year to have a week (or more, if you’re lucky) off, only to spend 2 hours at the airport, and 3+ hours flying. It’s all fun and games until, suddenly, your luggage is missing or your flight is delayed for 4 hours. Continue reading “10 Tips For Making Your Airport Experience Quick and Easy”

A Traveler’s Guide to Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is a peninsula located in the far northeast of Maine, on Mount Desert Island.  It’s full of rich fishing culture, amazing food, hiking, and much more.  There’s little to be found outside of it, so it’s like a hidden gem to vacationers everywhere.  As a kid my parents took my brother and I here many times, and this year Kyle took me here for my 23rd birthday!Continue reading “A Traveler’s Guide to Bar Harbor”

Starting a new job comes with its own set of challenges. Dear U.S. Army, Thank You..

Surprised? Don’t be. All around me I see mixed feelings and emotions towards different branches, and it’s really easy to say that we “hate” them sometimes. Either it’s the “hurry up and wait” or the distance, or all the little things that get under our skin. I certainly understand that level of frustration 100%. But lately I’ve been reminded of some of the wonderful things that the Army has done for Kyle and I. Here’s why I’m saying “Thank You”!Continue reading “Dear U.S. Army, Thank You..”

From Loving a Military Man to Loving a Veteran

Loving a military man is a challenge of its own, one which requires being in a constant state of transition.  But what happens when the routine stops, and the uniform is put away for good?  I know it’s something we all think about, because once you’ve been in this lifestyle for a few years, it’s hard to remember what it was like before the military came along. I vaguely remember a time when we didn’t have uniforms all over the house, and impossible work schedules. When the Army didn’t come first. It can be scary to imagine a life so far from what we’re used to.Continue reading “From Loving a Military Man to Loving a Veteran”

When Military Life Catches Up

Hello readers! It’s certainly been a while since I’ve reached out to all of you. To those who kept up with me, thank you! I’ve always shared my own military life, but what many people don’t know is that I come from a family of service members. Everyone in my family with the exception of my dad has served/is serving currently. It’s something that I’m immensely proud of, but sometimes it catches up to me.Continue reading “When Military Life Catches Up”

The Modern Military Relationship

Recently, I came across a post on one of my favorite blogs, A Semi-Delicate Balance. The post discusses the many ways in which the modern military spouse is changing the game, along with the introduction of the book: Modern Military Spouse: The Ultimate Military Life Guide for New Spouses and Significant Others by J.D Collins, Lauren Tamm, and Jo’ My Gosh! (You can check out her actual post here!)

It really got me thinking about how far we’ve come, and all the admirable military spouses and significant others I cross paths with everyday. It touched upon all the different ways that we have evolved and adapted over time, and what’s next for our lifestyle. Here are the ways I believe we are “changing the game”:Continue reading “The Modern Military Relationship”
