Life Update: Wedding Prep and Big Changes

Good Morning lovelies, and Happy Monday! I’ve been very on and off with this blog over the past few months, so I apologize for the sporadic posts. Truth is, a lot has been happening over here, and it’s just too difficult to keep up. From getting engaged and planning a wedding, to juggling my fairly new career, to working towards buying a house (YES, that’s right!) I’ve been spread pretty thin. But as I settle in and get used to my ever-changing routine, I can’t help but think of how much I love this blog. I love writing and sharing ideas, and reading the amazing blogs created by all of you! It has been such a great outlet for me, and I’m trying to find my way back to it.

What’s been going on around here:

Ultimate Shopping Guide For Your Holiday Decor

One of my favorite things about the holidays are the decorations. I love driving through our neighborhood and seeing all the pretty lights, the giant blow-up snowmen, and the wreaths on every door. New England is a very Christmassy place this time of year (the massive amount of snow doesn’t hurt) and everyone gets in the spirit pretty quickly around here. How I Learned To Let Go Of Negativity

The last week’s events had me thinking a lot about negativity, and how much of it we all have in our lives. It’s hard to ignore the fact that it surrounds us, either in our daily routine or all through our social media. Negativity is something that we’re bombarded with everyday. We deal with it during our morning drive when we listen to people call in, complaining that it’s Monday. We deal with it when we get to work, and it seems like everyone wishes it was still the weekend. When it’s lunchtime, we see it all across our Facebook feed. We live in a society where negativity is just something that we deal with, as though we don’t have any choice in the matter. But we do have a choice. I’m going to share a piece of my past that shows a more serious take on negativity, and what it can do to us. Continue reading “How I Learned To Let Go Of Negativity”

30 Things That I’m Grateful For Lately

This time of year I spend more time reflecting on life than usual. I’m definitely an over-thinker as it is, but I think the holidays bring out a different side of everyone. We’ve had a lot going on lately, between my new career developing, Kyle’s future in the military becoming more clear, my brother’s deployment, and other family things, it can be overwhelming at times. 8 Mobile Apps For Your Next Road Trip

In November of last year, I drove all the way from Florida to Maine with a couple of my coworkers. We covered the entire East Coast, and it was one of the worst road trips I’ve ever been on. Not even joking. Not only did we run into traffic trying to get out of Florida, but we hit about 6 more traffic jams along the way. And to make matters worse, the rear windows in our truck got completely shattered because we traveled through a bad area. All of it could have easily been avoided if we had known what was ahead of us, and had the right tools to actually enjoy the trip. Continue reading “8 Mobile Apps For Your Next Road Trip”

Fall Bucketlist

One of my favorite things about fall is that it’s the perfect time to get active, and get outside. The temperature is just right, and the foliage is amazing in New England.  Before we know it the ground is going to be covered in snow, so I’m excited to get out there and check some things off of my fall bucketlist! Decor and Organization: The Perfect Tools For Any Office

Having an office space that’s your own is all about personalization. It’s the only area that belongs to you and only you, and given how hard that is to come by, it’s important to find a style that works for you. When I choose items for my office, I look for timeless styles that are unique and elegant, but still fun. I don’t want to have to change it every 3 months because I’m tired of the colors, but I also want a space that’s nice to look at after a long day of work. Life Lately: Wedding Weekend and The Fair

Happy Thursday everyone! I don’t know if it’s the fact that we’re getting closer to winter or what, but the weeks have been flying by. We’ve officially entered the holiday season, so things are getting pretty busy for us between weddings, work functions, holiday parties, etc. But I must say, I love this time of year! 6 Things I Need To Stop Spending Money On

Over the past year or so, Kyle and I have really buckled down and started to save for our future. It started with the cars we wanted, and now it’s moved into more “adult” dreams, like a house. It’s amazing to look back and see how far we’ve both come in our careers, and the strides we’ve taken to build a more stable life. But one thing that constantly threatens our ability to budget and continue this growth are all the little things that we waste our money on.  Continue reading “6 Things I Need To Stop Spending Money On”

15 Years

Fifteen years ago yesterday, millions of Americans started their day like they would any other. Children began their morning of classes, businesses opened their doors, and nearly 2600 people entered the World Trade Center for the last time. At the same time, 125 employees of the Pentagon began their final day of work. Mere hours later, 246 people boarded 4 different planes, and as they reached their final destinations, the world was forever changed. It was a beautiful Tuesday, forever darkened by the events that would occur.  Continue reading “15 Years”
