I’ve been trying my best to catch up on everyone’s blog lately, and in doing so, I’ve found tons of great new blogs to follow. I’m so exited to have new material to read every morning, and to meet other bloggers from all over the world. One of my goals for 2016 was to write more about myself, from my personal life, to my relationship, to my career aspirations. I really want to commit to that goal (even if it is a little late in the year) and open up to my readers.Continue reading “15 (More) Facts About Me”
30 Things That I’m Grateful For Lately
This time of year I spend more time reflecting on life than usual. I’m definitely an over-thinker as it is, but I think the holidays bring out a different side of everyone. We’ve had a lot going on lately, between my new career developing, Kyle’s future in the military becoming more clear, my brother’s deployment, and other family things, it can be overwhelming at times.Continue reading “30 Things That I’m Grateful For Lately”
Dealing With Emergencies While Your Spouse Is Deployed
Among the many situations we are faced with in military life, it’s hard to have an answer or plan for everything. I’m a textbook over-thinker, but even after going over every possible scenario, I’ve been taken by surprise a time or two. Kyle and I have always worked as a team to overcome the obstacles and challenges of a busy schedule, and the common inconveniences that come up. We’ve discussed the possible emergencies we could face, and multiple ways for dealing with them.Continue reading “Dealing With Emergencies While Your Spouse Is Deployed”
8 Mobile Apps For Your Next Road Trip
In November of last year, I drove all the way from Florida to Maine with a couple of my coworkers. We covered the entire East Coast, and it was one of the worst road trips I’ve ever been on. Not even joking. Not only did we run into traffic trying to get out of Florida, but we hit about 6 more traffic jams along the way. And to make matters worse, the rear windows in our truck got completely shattered because we traveled through a bad area. All of it could have easily been avoided if we had known what was ahead of us, and had the right tools to actually enjoy the trip.Continue reading “8 Mobile Apps For Your Next Road Trip”
10 Myths About The National Guard and Reserve Lifestyle
I’ve put off writing this for a long time, for a lot of reasons. As the SO of an Army National Guard soldier, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about what he does and how it’s different. I’ve also gotten a lot of assumptions thrown at me about what people believe he doesn’t do. So allow me to set the record straight, and give some credit to the other Guard/Reserve families out there. Here are the 10 myths I’ve heard about the National Guard and Reserve lifestyles.Continue reading “10 Myths About The National Guard and Reserve Lifestyle”
Date Night: 5 Fall Outfits For A Night Out
I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like fall clothing is perfect for dressing up and getting fancy. From the dark red lipsticks to the tall boots, it’s finally easy to look nice! Fall Bucketlist
One of my favorite things about fall is that it’s the perfect time to get active, and get outside. The temperature is just right, and the foliage is amazing in New England. Before we know it the ground is going to be covered in snow, so I’m excited to get out there and check some things off of my fall bucketlist!Continue reading “Fall Bucketlist”
Decor and Organization: The Perfect Tools For Any Office
Having an office space that’s your own is all about personalization. It’s the only area that belongs to you and only you, and given how hard that is to come by, it’s important to find a style that works for you. When I choose items for my office, I look for timeless styles that are unique and elegant, but still fun. I don’t want to have to change it every 3 months because I’m tired of the colors, but I also want a space that’s nice to look at after a long day of work.Continue reading “Decor and Organization: The Perfect Tools For Any Office”
4 Communication Challenges That Military Families Face
Sitting in my room, with tears streaming down my face, I couldn’t understand how we got here. How did we go from a loving, carefree couple to the type of people who would yell at each other? How did we lose ourselves in separation, and worry, and stress? I went over it all again and again in my head, and no matter how hard I searched for the answers, I couldn’t find them.Continue reading “4 Communication Challenges That Military Families Face”
