How to Say Thank You This Veteran’s Day

Veteran’s Day is a special day in which we honor those who currently serve, and once served, our great nation.  It’s for those who wrote their own Will as young as 18, and swore before God that they will serve, protect, and sacrifice.  It’s for those who promised to put everything on the line, up to and including their own life, to defend the United States of America.  Today and everyday, we honor the choice that this 1% has made. Today and everyday, we thank them.Continue reading “How to Say Thank You This Veteran’s Day”

Four Products That Donate to Our Veterans

In honor of Veteran’s Day, I wanted to make all of my posts relate to the military and our veterans throughout the week. For the most part, we are all aware of some of the great organizations that donate to our soldiers and veterans. But “donating” doesn’t always need to be about money. Many companies and organizations have found other ways to assist. Whether it be education, medical bills, counseling, or housing, they have developed some amazing programs to offer assistance.Continue reading “Four Products That Donate to Our Veterans”

Keeping The Spark In Your Military Relationship

Sometimes distance makes the heart grow fonder; I can certainly relate to this. But sometimes, it makes the heart grow distant too. No matter how much you love each other, distance can be vicious in more ways than one.Continue reading “Keeping The Spark In Your Military Relationship “

Why Wait For The New Year? Fitness Goals to Reach by December

One of my biggest downfalls in my own personal fitness is that I often put things off. I tell myself “it’s ok, I’ll just start on Monday instead.” Eventually Monday turns into never and I’m way behind on the goal that I wanted to reach. So I got to thinking: why do we wait until the New Year to make resolutions? Why not now?Continue reading “Why Wait For The New Year? Fitness Goals to Reach by December”

Five Places to Visit While You’re in Portland, Maine

Happy Tuesday everyone! The past two days have been considered mine and Kyle’s “weekend” because he’ll be leaving for a week or so to do some training, so my apologies for the late post. Sometimes I’m a bit torn between putting my phone down and giving everyone my undivided attention, and trying constantly to find more creative ideas for my posts. It’s a balancing act, that’s for sure. But today I was able to do a little bit of both.Continue reading “Five Places to Visit While You’re in Portland, Maine”

When “Home For The Holidays” Isn’t an Option

As the holiday season is approaching, we are reminded of the many soldiers who are overseas and won’t see their families until next year, or longer. We must remember to thank them for the time they have given up to serve and protect, but we must also remember those who are serving in a different way.Continue reading “When “Home For The Holidays” Isn’t an Option”

Prepping For Colder Weather: Running Gear That Will Keep You Moving

As an avid runner, I try to get outdoors atleast 9 months out of the year. But with that, I have to deal with some of the harsher winter months that make running comfortably a challenge. Whether it’s taking my gloves off to change my music, or having to adjust my hat 10 times, there are a lot of factors in the cold that can make you have to end your run. Luckily, I’ve found some great items over the years that have made this experience a lot better. Take a look!Continue reading “Prepping For Colder Weather: Running Gear That Will Keep You Moving”

The Five Worst Duty Stations In The Army

This past week, Grunt Style Magazine did a short study to reveal the worst duty stations across the globe for Army personnel. At each duty station, families and soldiers often have a different experience. Some posts have excellent housing, but fall short in terms of the surrounding attractions. Sometimes it’s the other way around. Some posts are even known for their great amenities, or lack thereof. Continue reading “The Five Worst Duty Stations In The Army”

Excuse me, what did you say?

I don’t know if there’s something in the air or what’s going on, but it seems like this week has been the week for bad comments/questions. Have you ever had weeks like that, where people just have no filter whatsoever?Continue reading “Excuse me, what did you say?”

Keeping Your Identity In Your Military Relationship

Lets face it, we all get a little bit caught up sometimes. If you’re in a military relationship like myself, than you know exactly what I mean. We get so busy trying to plan around training cycles and deployments, that our life starts to have very little balance. I meet so many military girlfriends, boyfriends, and spouses who are caught up in their loved ones goals, career, and duty, and they have lost who they are, and what they want.Continue reading “Keeping Your Identity In Your Military Relationship”
